For as little as $100 a year, you can become a business supporter of the Magic Lantern Theater. The new life our events bring to the historic district will help your business grow as well. Your donation can increase Magic Lantern’s presence and contribute to cultural and entertainment diversity in the northern Shenandoah Valley.
Since Magic Lantern commenced in mid-2001, we’ve shown a variety of fine US contemporary and classic films as well as some of the finest offerings from abroad. These screenings are intended to offer an alternative to local commercial movie theaters and to add an additional cultural resource to Winchester’s historic center and to the surrounding area. They would not be possible without the support and co-sponsorship of various local entities, often including provision of a venue for our ambulatory theater. Our primary partners are the Friends of Handley Regional Library, the Barns at Rose Hill, Veramar Vineyard, the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Frederick County Parks and Recreation and the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Shenandoah Valley.
